Welcome to this week's roundup of the latest and greatest in Active Directory news and topics that I think you might find interesting. If you have a blog our source you think I should keep track of, please leave a comment.

Jackson Shaw blogged about a terrific article from MIT, "Security in the Ether". Unfortunately, you have to be a subscriber to the MIT Technology Review to read the full article (or you can purchase just the article).  I happen to be a subscriber already myself (I recommend it) so I logged on to read the article. As Jackson comments, cloud security will be a major challenge (that's almost a no-brainer in my opinion). I love the idea that instead of cloud computing we should refer to it as swamp computing. As we move more and more things to this cloud (or swamp), especially directory services, there are many questions to be asked and answered. If you have any cloud computing projects, be sure to check out Jackson's comments and the MIT article.

On a related note, Laura Hunter offers a recommendation to a white paper by David Chappell on ways to connect Amazon resources to your on-premise domain: "Providing Single Sign-On to Your Amazon EC2 Applications from an On-Premises Windows Domain."

PowerShell MVP and AD guru Brandon Shell has started a new monthly on SearchWindowsServer at TechTarget.com. His first article, What Makes Windows PowerShell Unique, is now online. This too, requires registration. But if you are still wondering what all the hoopla is surrounding PowerShell, or looking for arguments to persuade the powers-that-be in your company to do more with PowerShell, take a moment to check it out.  I also wrote an article about how to promote PowerShell within your organization on my blog.

Finally, a number of bloggers and MVPs rejoiced in the release of an ADLDS (aka ADAM) for Windows 7. It disappeared for Windows Vista and apparently has been released for Windows 7, which is terrific. Now you can test directory services stuff without needing a server OS. However, before you get too excited, the download link (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=a45059af-47a8-4c96-afe3-93dab7b5b658) no longer works. I'm trying to determine if it was pulled, changed or something else.
